PPRuNe time problems

I think someone is tinkering again! My first post was posted an hour before I actually posted it.

Newforest2 10th Nov 2010 12:10

Pprune wasn't available about five hours ago? :*

PDT-PST nonsense

What is all this PDT-0700 and PST-0800 nonsense filling the time boxes?

hollingworthp 11th Nov 2010 18:04

I nearly always google using [site:pprune.org ] and then whatever I want to search for. Gets over the min word length issue and generally seems to work much better.

PS - whats with all this PST guff at the end of every single timestamp on the site - looks proper daft!

BEagle 11th Nov 2010 19:26

Pst, Pdt....wtf??

Whatever is all this -0800 [PST] nonsense appearing on PPRuNe post details? There's only one universal time, GMT! Or 'UTC' in Roman Catholic.

Or is it simply that fat Spams can't do sums in their thick heads?

And why can't that cretinous title learn that TLAs used by aircrew are often in upper case? It should have read 'PST, PDT....WTF??'

Mike-Bracknell 11th Nov 2010 19:32

Tolerant much?

It's because someone in their infinite wisdom thought a UK/US-centric forum where the majority of users are on the US East coast or in the UK/Europe would be best hosted on the West coast USA.

Blame the beancounters (or history).

EDIT: WTF? I posted this as a reply to a single post, refreshed, and it became a 7 post thread?!?

Calm down dear ....

vBulletin problem ?

Just a nitpick really but at the foot of each page ......

All times are GMT. The time now is 00:41 -0800 [PST].
When the time is actually 00:41 GMT.

There is similar confusion in the article timings in all forums.

Is this a software issue or possibly a browser problem ?

spannersatcx 13th Nov 2010 02:00

I think it's an American problem, afterall who wants to know that GMT is -8hrs from PST?:=

mutt 13th Nov 2010 02:47

Have you noticed that the ads have gone from the right side of the page?

Obviously no one really knows why we have this PST time problem. Hopefully it gets fixed sometime soon. Mods?

dazdaz1 14th Nov 2010 16:27
