Useful internet sites

I thought that, as we are all of a similar ilk, we might like to post some suitable or informative or just plain enjoyable websites which we use often. I certainly find that most of my useful sites have come from friends' suggestions and so I thought we might like to offer some around.

Before anyone mentions that it is not much to do with flying or Pilots; I know. And yes, I know it is not a rumour either.
For the record, I use www.multimap.com all the time; it has rendered my road map in the car completely obsolete. Has anyone got any others which they might like to offer? I am sure most of us would just like the clean ones!!!

Found http://catchup.cnet.com/ to be VERY useful in getting all those damn updates and patches you run around in bloodey cirles chasing.
Upon reaching the site you only have to download the small CNET scanning software then your on your way. Ive found everything on this site above board with no security issues. Dont even need cookies enabled and no complications with Z.Alarm and Adsub running.

There is also an opinion page you can click, and read up the pros and cons from other CNET users on the program/update before actualy downloading the software recommended for your computer. This is handey for separating the useless sh!t from stuff you realy do need. Its also good for spotting traps for young players.

For display-driver updates (like ATI etc) I do recommend you go to the manufacturers site rather than CNET. CNET has made ballsups mis-reading drivers on some computers and recommended the wrong update. Considering you have to delete your original display-drivers first before instaling the updated ones, it can result in a huge bloodey monumental screw-up if the wrong update is instaled.

(Obviousley) theres no problem though with CNETs DirectX update recommendations.

Used this one every now and again,
http://aspals.com/
It's a military lawyers legal site. Very useful for us under military law. It also links to some free legal advice sites and has it's own bulletin board.
