email and biq files
gidday guru's ..
I took a couple of (I think relatively short) 24-26 sec's of video footage to send a mate in Iraq. I cannot email either of them as the error message says both exceed the global limit. I did zip one of the files but it was still rejected as being too big. Anyone with any simple solutions? The footage is of his wife and kids - unexpected to him and I think it would be most welcome ... |
I haven't used this but other friends have :
http://www.sendthisfile.com/ Basically you are uploading the file to a server and the recipient gets an email with a link to download the file onto their computer - all for free. As always, make sure you have current virusscan software installed. |
As ever, unless you post the exact text of the error message (including headers if the error message arrived in an email), any replies can only be guesses. Maybe good guesses from time to time, but still guesses.

The size limits on emails vary widely. Many people can't take past a few MB.
However there is also a mailbox size limit - if the recipient doesn't check his email often, this is a regular one. |
an update
and a big thanks for the link - the files were uploaded (45 minutes my end) and downloaded (2 hours the other end) and received in the sandpit by a grateful digger.
Mission accomplished in that regard. :D Now, if I want to send 'live' footage of a few seconds via email is there something better that I can do, so it can be a little quicker/smarter/more effective .. ? |
HJ Split, found here, is freeware and allows joining as well as splitting. You can even specify how small files are split.
