AV Sockets on a TV

Could anyone confirm whether the red/yellow/white AV sockets on a TV/VCR are input only? I'm trying a camcorder that has an AV input to record from a TV/VCR, but not having much success.

Thanks

That is usually the case, however some T.V.'s do have output from the scart sockets on the back, you can get a scart to photo convertor that will then send an image out.

If you are recording from a sky box or a vcr you can usually connect these easier as they have scart output's on them.

RCA sockets are only 2 wire and, hence, only one way. If you buy a two-way box it will have two sets, one in, one out.

Check the specification for the TV scart socket, it will undoubtedly be two-way (for recording and playback on a VCR). Scart sockets with 6 RCA phonos for in/out, or 3 with an in/out slider switch, only cost a few pounds from somewhere like Maplin.
