DVD Movies question

Having taken movie clips with my digital camera, coming out in Quicktime Movie format, how do I transfer them to disc, so that they can be viewed on a domesic dvd player?

You need to convert it to a file that can be made in to a DVD. either .avi or .mpeg.

There are free and commercial software available, have a look here for some help.

Right- I've got things as far as having stored the compilation of clips as an MPEG 2 file on the computer. I then used Roxio Creator Classic (Nero wouldnt accept the file), to create a CD. ( I finalised the disc during the operation.)

Unfortunately, whilst it plays on the Computer, it won't play on my domestic DVD player.

Should I have been using MPEG 1- or where else have I gone wrong??

"..... to create a CD." If you really did create a CD then that is why your DVD player probably won't play it! CD is not the same as DVD even though they may look similar. You do have a DVD drive, capable of writing DVD discs, don't you?

Well, I do, but I thought that this video, only six minutes long, would fit in a CD. I thought that this would give me a VCD?? Maybe not....?

..... and, as spannersatcx noted awhile back, players, differ markedly in their ability to play cd/dvds. My last attempt at an SVCD would play on my computer and my DVD player plus a 'cheapie' player but not on a VERY expensive player or a moderately priced job.:ugh:
