HiJackThis Log and CPU Spikes
As I posted t'other day, my laptop keeps having CPU 'spikes' to 100%. After googling it seems quite common and i've done a log which I hope someone can de-code for me.
I'm not sure if theres anything dodgy that's running but i'm sure there can't be anything too sinister. --------------------------------------------------------------- Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 21:01:55, on 16/12/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\mdm.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\wltrysvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmwltry.exe C:\WINDOWS\BCMSMMSG.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\Apoint.exe C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\PCMService.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\DVDLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Winamp\winampa.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\Video\LogiTray.exe C:\PROGRA~1\BTBROA~2\SMARTB~1\BTHelpNotifier.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_FATI9CE.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\PHILIP~1\VProperty.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\LVComS.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\Apntex.exe C:\Program Files\BT Broadband Help\bin\mpbtn.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Joe Simon\Desktop\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe R1 - A handy litle program HERE for any future CPU spike problems. ...The graph, re. below, runs in real time and by putting your cursor over the relevant peaks you get an instant read out (illustrated) of the cause. http://www.sysinternals.com/images/s...ssExplorer.gif http://www.sysinternals.com/images/s...sExplorer2.gif |
Many thanks guys.
BST that program is spot on, thanks for that. :ok: |
I've noticed that the computer slows down when iTunes is running, usually towards the end of one song and the beginning of the other.
Web pages take a while to load, changing active windows take a while to switch etc. Could it just be the build of iTunes disagreeing with something? It seems to be fine mid-song. iTunes is installed onto my laptop, all my music (17.37 GB) is in one folder on an ext HDD. I've defragged the laptop and the ext, aswell as done disk cleanup but to no avail. |
