Outlook Express Deletion

Early I emptied my deleted items folder in OE. Now I think there may have been a couple of messages I wanted to keep!

Is there anyway of finding them once the deleted items folder has been emptied.

Futile I know!

Hi Max,

The first thing to do if you accidentally delete a file is to stop using the PC !

In simple terms, when you "delete" a file, it still remains on the hard drive but the reference to it is deleted, freeing up the space used by the file to be written over - that's why you should stop using the PC as soon as you realise what you've done....

There are a number of utilities available for recovering "deleted" files - if you must download them to the same PC, and the PC has two hard drives ( or two partitions on one drive ) download it to the drive / partition that does NOT contain the file you want to recover - to make sure you don't overwrite the file you want to recover with the recovery program !

Here's one you could try - Freeware - File Recovery 4

Good luck
:ok:
