Mouse Wriggle

Why does my mouse wriggle across to the left or up? i have changed mouse and mousepads to no avail. Am i going mad?

Is it optical? Sometimes a battery powered one, running low, exhibits these symptoms. Otherwise it might be a hair or fluff caught around the little axles/wheels... :yuk:

hmmmm, yes yucky stuff indeed!

Its just a standard mouse i plugged in to the big white bit without the screen. I have changed mousepads, then I went and got a new mouse, still the same problem.

Needless to say I am quite perplexed at the situation.

I used to have one a few years ago where that happened. Fixed it in the end by installing the MS Wheelmouse software. I suppose it might have been a corrupted driver or something like that.

I now use an optical wireless Memorex MX4350RF which was very cheap on eBuyer. Takes a little bit of getting used to at first, but it is 100% compared to previous mice. Doesn't feature there currently, but there are several similar for <£15.

ontrackfor,

How often does it happen?

How long after you installed the new mouse did it happen?

Do you use a PS2 or USB Port for the mouse?

If you have pets, their hair can end up in the optical sensor and cause the problem you described.

Take Care,

Richard
