Touchpad Annoyance - Scrolls TOO FAR when tapping!

The motion is fine for dragging, etc....it's just when I "click" (by using the main part of the touchpad, not the edges) on the vertical bar on web-pages....instead of scrolling one page, it jumps instantly two pages. It's not finger-trouble...this is every damn time.

All drivers up to date. Settings for the Synaptics TouchPad don't show any "scroll three lines" or "scroll one page at a time" etc.

Google search resulted in nothing.

Ideas, anyone?
Thanks,
C.O.

Don't use the gadget, but one of the piccys at http://www.winbookcorp.com/_technote/WBTA00000847.htm seems to show a scrolling control.

Presume you've looked at http://www.synaptics.com/support/tro...ooting.cfm#4.0

Does your driver have an option to set it for M$ Office compatible behaviour? That alters some of the ways it reacts...

From http://www.synaptics.com/support/downloads.cfm#drivers

Corner Taps and Programmable Tap Zones
Assign button controls or other interactions to an area on the TouchPad surface. TouchPad is fully programmable so you can set it up to work just the way you want. For example, you can program the upper left corner to automatically open the File menu with just a tap.

Touchpad issues...still

Thanks for all the attempts, everyone.

Somehow, someWHY, this happened recently, but as to why I have no clue. There is no spyware on my system (THANKS, Richard!) and all updates are...well, updated.

This is not an add-on feature issue with MS (which this Touchpad doesn't have, anyway), nor is it an "area" of the touchpad issue (but thanks just the same).

C.O.
