Microsoft Messenger sends out gobbldeygook!!

Hi,
My microsoft messenger (version 4.7) looks normal when I type in messages, but some (and only some) recipients receive it as unreadable characters. I run XP. Any ideas

Are you using an obscure or unusual font for your mesage text, invalid entries?
