Can't turn off Safesearch.
Seriously annoying. I really don't want to be treated like a child.
Searching, as always, seems to be for people with computers and Windows from a different universe.
I realise over a period of time that I've been more and more restricted to certain sites. I'm in need of this information despite not being sure how one overcomes not being a peer for peer reviewed work. It will be a test of having piqued their interest.

I suspect that you're using Google. I think that the only way to have it stay off is to make sure that you are logged in. If you don't have an account or don't want one, consider setting up a Google account using an e-mail address created solely for that purpose.
