Not so - there are already people working on running it on a MAC - just Google it - here's one of a dozen links

Remember this? Lol

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/11/why-...f-windows.html

In 2015, as Microsoft was preparing to release its Windows 10 operating system, a developer evangelist speaking at a technical session during a company event dropped an eyebrow-raising statement. “Windows 10 is the last version of Windows,” he said. But last week, Microsoft announced an online event to reveal “the next generation of Windows.”

Not much hope for my nine year old i7 12gb pc with a nvidia Fx pro graphics card. I hope someone comes up with a workaround or an add on piece of hardware to make it all work, otherwise in 4 years time I will be forking out a £grand to get something nearly as good as this one

I also have a couple of ancient but very quick laptops that wont take tis either.

Apparently one of the requirement is .......
  • RAM: Windows 10 requires 1 gigabyte of RAM, Windows 11 requires 4 gigabytes
Which sounds very reminiscent of Windows Vista

I can't post a link, but use any good search engine to find the AskWoody free newsletter from June 28th.
The headline article in this Windows 11 special newsletter is a well-reasoned post by Will Fastie.
Will is editor in chief of the AskWoody Plus Newsletter, and he wrote this piece after attending the Windows 11 launch.

Oh dear, that made very depressing reading

If I read it correctly, about 95% of the worlds Windows PC's will need replacing and I suspect many will migrate to Apple.

Unfortunately no.

TPM 2 requires a chip on the motherboard, whilst these can be added to some motherboards many like mine, do not have a slot for it or a BIOS capable of operating it. Ignoring the Vista like need for 4gb Ram, there are only a very few processors that will work with it as well.

Even allowing for the replacement of older windows machines over the next four years, I think it safe to say that Microsoft will be severely upsetting over 1 billion Windows users. Not what I would call a smart business strategy .

I think the lack of enthusiasm shown for it by senior Microsoft people at the launch speaks volumes. Expect a screeching U turn in the coming months or years, with 10 continuing to be supported alongside 11 for those that want or need the added security.

Best thing to do is wait for the inevitable Windows 11 patch that makes TPM-2 optional.
