Change your password popup
Whenever I try to login on my PC using Chrome I get a popup that states “ Change your password. A data breach on a site or app exposed your password. Chrome recommends changing your password on www.pprune.org now”
I am able to login and type in a reply to a post but when I click submit it takes me to the login page again and my post hasn’t worked. I have started this thread using my iPad. Any ideas how I can get rid of this annoying critter?

If you haven't already, clearing your cache in Chrome and running a virus scan to ensure you haven't picked up a nasty might help?

Chrome sends a hash of your ID and password to Google. Google maintains a list of known compromised ID and passwords pairs. If the hashes match, then your ID & password are known to be found in the wild. So Chrome recommends you change them. It doesn't mean this site was the source of the original compromise.

Ok so the popup has gone but now when I try to add a post I get the following message on prune itself “1. You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again”
Which of course starts the whole frustrating cycle again. Any ideas how to fix it?

The easiest fix is probably changing your PPRuNe password to something new. Login, go to User CP at top left and follow the instructions. I do not use Chrome but I suspect it is trying to convince you that your current password here is unsafe and will therefore not allow you to stay logged in. You could also try another browser (Firefox, Edge, Safari).
