Buying website

Hello,

I'm considering buying a (small) website and as part of the deal the seller is promising to keep links to the site from another site, and include that in the agreement. But I'm wondering what in reality I could do if the links were removed? Does anyone have experience of this? Currently considering not buying site because I'm not sure what effective (and cheap) legal action I could take if the seller reneged on the agreement.

Thanks for any help,

MrS

Does that link actually produce anything useful? It depends on how authoritative that site is that's sending the traffic to your potential website and also is it set up as a 'no follow' link, in which case it's not worth having anyway.

Links from sites such as BBC are worth their weight in gold. Links from directories and the like aren't really that useful anymore. Nor links on link farms.
