Can I access my emails in my laptop while being on flight?

The mail id is not linked with my mobile. It is configured to my Laptop only. Can I somehow access them being in the flight?

If the aircraft has WiFi, yes - but some (most?) airlines make a charge for the service.

Depends on how your e-mail is configured. How do you access your e-mail on your laptop? Using a webmail interface in a browser? Then the answer is no, unless you use onboard WiFi. Using a standalone e-mail program such as Thunderbird, Outlook, Apple Mail? Then yes, provided the program is configured to store the messages on the laptop itself. If that is not the case, you'll need to use the WiFi again.

You can figure this out yourself, just switch off the WiFi on the laptop and see how you get on.

Lufthansa want €7 for a pathetic 'up to' 0.6 Mbps, which is only available once the aircraft has reached cruise altitude - and is switched off at top-of-descent. Or €12 for 'up to' 15 Mbps….

At least voice calls over Skype etc. are banned.

I think I'll stick to a book / magazine for in-flight relaxation.
