Outlook 2003 Inbox query

Outlook 2003 – Odd problem. 4 consecutive days worth of emails have apparently disappeared from the Inbox folder when viewed in Received order.

However, if I search for those that I can recall with either the senders name or any other pertinent search string, they are found intact but then going back to Received order, they appear to be missing.

All other folders appear complete.

Any ideas?

You say "received order"; do you mean 'date' received order, or the other myriad of options?

I have similarly lost e-mails, but have always found them again via:
View > Arrange By > Date.

If you can't find them by this date received method (how I assume most have their Inbox configured), but they are still there via other search methods, then perhaps confirmation that your computer date/time settings are correct might be the answer (?).

Just a thought.

Yes, date received order. Everything else was set up OK. Emails before and after the ‘missing’ dates displayed correctly.

I really annoyed me last night. Tried everything without any success.

Eventually (after backing everything up) I exported the inbox, deleted the contents of the inbox and re-imported the inbox and voila, there they were. Very odd.
