Eapis in the Caribbean
I recently became aware of Caricom Eapis; apparently Caricom is the union of ten Caribbean ations, including Jamaica and the Bahamas. They have their own Eapis which all foreign aircraft are required to use prior to flying to a covered country.
Ive flown to the Bahamas numerous times and Jamaica a few times and have never filed, but Ive never been asked on arrival if I filed. I understand large fines can be levied for failure to file. Does anyone have any experience of this? |
It is mandatory and fines will be applied if you break the rules. Some FBO's will submit the APIS on your behalf, others won't. Ultimately, it is the PIC responsibility to ensure APIS is submitted.
PM me if you want more details including submitting on your behalf. |
Not the Bahamas.
There are 15 CARICOM members but only 10 are doing this eAPIS program and the Bahamas is not one of those. |
Link to Caricom (Caribbean E-Apis) Caricom > HOME. Quite easy to set up an account and use. PM if you have any other questions.

What about Cuba?
I have flown there 3 times already and have never been able to submit the Apis in their portal.
First two times I used alternative methods through some contact there. However my last time it was Sunday, Father's Day so I guess was not done. Any inputs on this regard...? Thanks |
