Seneca

Hi all
Does anyone here know if there is a difference in between the seneca made in the US by Beechcraft and the one made in Brasil by Embraer.
Also if there is anything that i should know about senecas, like positive/negative things about it.
One last thing...is a Baron or even a cessna 310(I THINK) better than a Seneca?
Thanks very much
Luis

Seneca...

G'day aiellosky,

I feel that you may be referring to the PIPER SENECA, (PA34 or PASE), made by Piper in the USA.
Don't know anything about the Brazilian version, but if you go to "Google' and type in Piper Seneca, all will be revealed to you, and, if you would like to do the same with the other types, you can compare them yourself and make your own assessment.

You may find that the Seneca was a twin derivitave of the well known Piper Cherokee 6, a very handy single engined aircraft that had the distinction of being able to lift more than its own weight as a payload. Small charter companies loved it for this reason alone...

Regards

Hi aiellosky

First Beechcraft doesn't build Senecas, they're build by Piper Corporation as FSO GRIFFO mentioned above. The version built under license by Embraer, as EMB810, is essentially the same as the Piper version with some minor cosmetic differences.

It's been more than 25 years that I flew one, but I can recall that it was a little bit heavy on the controls (essentially the elevators)during the flare maneuver.

If one didn't watch out, the nose gear could land first, causing the airplane to enter a porpoising movement and eventually hitting the props.

Brgds
