You're making it sound like they flew it into the side of a mountain. As the current owner gave stated, it's hard getting parts and there are a limited number of lakes that it can land in to pick up water or overnight at. Also all of the fire fighting seems to have been taken over by helicopter or the small ag plane that are dropping water. Best thing that could happen to her is she's going to a Canadian Museum instead of one in the US or somewhere else in the world.

Philippine Mars is destined for Pima in Tucson AZ later this year.

BFSGrad, don't recall seeing the second Mars aircraft when i visited the Coulson site before Covid. Any idea how it's going to get there?

I’ve read that it will flown there but Tucson is not the land of lakes.

Thermal, California – April 25, 2024 – Coulson Aviation’s Philippine Mars will soon find its forever home at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona this year. The Philippine Mars is one of only five Martin JRM Mars flying boats produced.

Perhaps you didn't see it, because it is painted blue. ;)

It was on the ramp when Hawaii Mars flew over on its last flight:
