Faa to tc pilot license conversion procedures

Hello
I have just completed my FAA to TC ATPL aeroplane written exam.. Just three questions here:
1. One of my type ratings in my FAA certificate is the B1900 SIC type rating. Will this type rating be included in my TC Licence when issued?
2. When I submit my application and the relevant documents, will I be issued a TC temporal licence while awaiting my Aviation document booklet like is done in the US?
3. Can I submit my application by email and how long does it take from when an application is submitted to when an Aviation document booklet is issued?

gsa,

Not lookin' good for your SIC type rating. Couldn't find an answer to your other questions. This from AC 61-135A:

Section 6(b) The following ratings or qualifications were also included: class ratings of Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL) and Airplane Multiengine Land (AMEL), airplane instrument rating, certain airplane pilot type ratings for which the same type rating existed in both the U.S. and Canada, and night qualification.

Section 13(e)(1) NOTE: Any limitations that are present on the FAA pilot certificate may be transferred to the TCCA pilot license. Further, a pilot type rating that authorizes SIC privileges only is not eligible to be converted.

I didn't see anything in the AC re TCCA issuing temporary certificates. Perhaps I overlooked it. Maybe a Canadian pilot will chime in with the info. I'd assume they do.

Yes, you should be issued a temporary license. Old school paper, and there should be three of them - one for the license, one for the medical, and one for the radio license, although this last one is not issued by Transport Canada but by Industry Canada so it may take a little longer.

As for submission by email, I'm not sure - when I came back from overseas 15 years ago you had to go into the closest regional office to get it done, and I don't think they've improved that much since then, but I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised. Your best bet is to ask directly. Find the region you'll be working and living in and contact them directly. They do have an email for each office, but because you have to submit the licensing fee along with the application, they may not accept the submission that way.

As for the service level of when you should see the license back, expect 40 business days from the date they receive your application if it's mailed in. But if you can make an appointment to go in, that's better. I had my license in hand within 40 minutes.
