Canadian ATPL req
Good Day Folks,
I am heading over to Indonesia to fly for Susi Air ( Cessna grand caravan 208 Day VFR only). A buddy of mine who worked there told me that Transport Canada will not count my f/o time towards Canadian atpl. They will only count pic time (once I upgrade to Capt) towards the issuance of a Canadian atpl. Why? Thanks! |
Perhaps because they consider it a single pilot aircraft?

Check to see if the company Flight Operations Manual has a section talking about logging time while multi-crew. My company has a page that says both pilots can log flight time on a traditionally single-pilot aircraft if the company has assigned 2 pilots "to fulfill contractual obligations or to enhance safety of flight operations". When I submitted my ATPL application, they wanted this in order to approve any SIC time I had logged.

Why not find the information on the TC website instead of asking here. I found it in about 1 minute. The details are spelled out quite specifically as to what can/can't be logged.

Co pilot on a VFR Caravan is not required on the type or by regulation (ie. IFR, no autopilot)...
You could try, but depending who you get checking your book, it may not be counted. |
I shall check with Transport to get more clarification. Thanks folks!
