Did someone forget to check the sight-window in the door? :bored:

In all seriousness, however, it would be SO easy for something like that to happen in a 1900D. One of you is trying to brief the pax, the other is trying to get back into the airplane after running around outside. One of you sits in the seat, runs the before starts while the other finishes the brief, closes the door on the way to theirs...they forget to check the sight glass cause it locked every other flight today and, quite frankly, remembering I took the tail stand out is oh so more important...and boom.

30 seconds to make sure all the checks are done properly seems like forever at the beginning of a flight...seems like nothing with a door hanging in the wind I bet.

Good point. I flew a Beech 99 and it had so many latches. 6 for the belly pods, 6 for the nose cargo doors and then the entrance doors finishing off with the interior handle latched. The last thing done when climbing the steps to close the door was to make a definite count of all latches as I knew how easy it is to accidentally miss one. Always do this as the final check with a quick walkaround just prior to closing the door and don't let anything or anyone interfere or distract this train of thought until that is done. Then answer the passengers question or do whatever is next to do.
