Mandatory Medical Reporting?

Hi,

The TC AIM in Section AIR - 3.0 Medical Information says:

3.1.1 Mandatory Medical Reporting
Pilots are reminded that section 6.5 of the Aeronautics Act requires them to identify themselves as the holder of a pilot’s licence prior to the commencement of any examination by a physician or optometrist. Section 6.5 further requires that the attending physician or optometrist notify the Minister of any finding that may constitute a hazard to aviation safety.

Section 6.5 also deems the pilot to have consented to the release of aviation-related findings by the physician or optometrist to the Minister.

How can I find out if a doctor reported a medical condition to Transport Canada?

My aviation medical has expired.

Thanks.

Ask the doctor in question.

Don't try to hide anything. It's not worth it.

I don't understand the question. You say your medical has expired. Did you try to renew it recently through an aviation medical doctor? Without that, your medical will expire anyways. Or are you asking if you should bother going for a renewal because you have had medical issues that could preclude your ability to qualify for a medical? Because if that is the case, you are duty bound to declare any medical conditions to your aviation doctor (and to the Minister) if that condition could keep you from passing a medical
