Flying doctors
Hi guys, I'd like to know if exists flying doctors in Canada ? I'm writing a story and I was looking for those guys who fly to remote locations in extreme conditions to help out local communities... If you have a contact or two to share it'll be much appreciated !

Get in touch with ORNGE at CYQT Thunder Bay.

No such thing in Canada. We have medivacs, which are basically flying ambulances. And as mentioned above ORNGE is one of the biggest.

Thanks for the info, guys !

Escocia
This sort of thing exists in Scotland linking the remote communities of Shetland, Orkney and the Hebrides.

ORNGE uses helicopters and fixed wing a/c. In northwestern Ontario there are a number of isolated first nation communities that have no road access and rely on air transportation. ORNGE provides these places with medevac service.
I saw a video on the internet about an emergency medevac using a King Air flying to Winnipeg, with a critical patient on board. I can't seem to find it but maybe with a bit of searching it will show up. |

Try talking to Dr. Granger Avery in Port McNeill, BC. I remember reading somewhere that he flies around the mid-coast in a chartered Beaver, holding clinics at various hard-to-reach communities..

Thank you so much guys, much appreciated !
