Air Georgian

Just wandering if anyone has any information on Ontario Regional (Air Georgian). Such as interview questions, simulator evaluation (type of plates used and location of flight), pay, working conditions, # days of work per month worked. Any information would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance

Air Georgian conducted interviews last spring only to lay off the new hires before the end of ground school. Needless to say it did not go over well. At the time I believe they conducted the sim evaluation in a Dash 8 at FlightSafety. Not sure about the interview questions though I imagine they were of the standard type. Most of the flying is in southern Ontario. As they are connected with Canadian it is difficult to say what the future has in store.

I have had an interview with them and wasn't to impressed with their attitude.
They ask you a bunch of IFR questions. Nothing out of the ordinary, but still. Then they go over your resume and ask you questions in regard of the equipment you have flown.
In the end they tell you that they will contact you if they think you are one of their candidates. To my question if they would contact me anyway, even if I am not a candidate they said that they wouldn't do that. They leave you hanging since you don't know which way the interview went.

One more thing to the hiring in Calgary by Air Georgian. They did hire a bunch of guys only to discover that there financial backing wasn't in order with placing a bunch of B1900 in the west. Some of the guys had gone through their training already and had obtained their PPC which set them back a healthy amount. Since they all had to sign a contract as to getting their PPC paid for over their time of employment at Air Georgian there was disagreement with management about the recovery of those funds. In the end it did get settled. But a few guys did get screwed. They left good positions to fly for Georgian only to find out that it was not to be. Some did get hired back by there old employers but many didn't.

Ontario Regional..employs 110 pilots...Current company contract is 1o GDO's a month with a preferrred days off bid system. Perdiems are very weak and below industry standards (roughly half or less of standard) Routes are all within the Province except for a Corporate shuttle from YKZ to Cinnci. FO" are starting around $26 k..caPTAINS $42k. Teh sims are conducted on Dash 7 out of Downsview..They have also used a Twatter as well. Interview questions range from weird to normal..A review of your RAC section would be a good idea. They tend to hire all sorts...some turn out to be real zeros but most are a good bunch of guys to fly with. They do expect to lose a fair amount of guys over the next few months..as many as 4 per month..This ratio has put a strain on the current population and has resulted in a tough schedule. If ya want some more info..pot your email and I would be happy to send it your way..Good Luck!

Don't jump in too quick. The 2 1900s operating on the East Coast are scabing for Inter Canadien. Word has it the Union is seeking a court injunction to shut em down in the east. They are a low paying, low life outfit.
