AC and it's regionals, Air Ontario and Air Nova is set to do a major hiring spree very soon. What are your times like? Send them your resume.

They're going to take on new hires even with the relative uncertainty with Canadi>n/AC mergers etc? Thats good news for everyone

Yeah it looks pretty good. The last batch of new hires for Air Ontario is just finishing up the ground stuff and will be online pretty soon. The next class will start soon after. I've talked to a bunch of captains for local charters/medevacs and they have interviews for Air Nova. One guy I know also just got hired for Canadian Regional (Air Georgian).

Hello all! From what I hear, Nova is still going stong with the hiring as a buddy of mine just started a week ago on the Dash 8 course in YHZ. As for the bigger players, there's an article in the Globe on how C3 wants to cash on any "void" left by Canadi>n's demise or takeover by Air Canada (don't shoot the messenger) You can find this article in the Airline Employee Forum. There's also talk of a new cargo operation out of YMX using 2 747s. I don't know of any numbers or even requirements at this time but it's bound to make a "small dent" in the pilot pool. Good luck!

I currently have over 5000 hours...I am a little afraid to freeze on the regionals for 2 or more years..especially with this Canadian Buyout putting surplus pilots in the mix....I am hoping that the charters ie C3 will become agressive and hire..Am I out of my mind with this reasoning???
