FAA to Canadian CAA

Any info regarding a conversion / validation
of an FAA ATP to Canadian ATP(L?).
Or similar scheme for an FAA Commercial to Canadian Commercial.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Of special interest is if you have an FAA Commercial what are the hours required to get credit for previous flight time.

canadian commercial requires that you have all the minimum time for the rating (which a 4striper like yourself surely possess) and that you complete the one canadian commercial written, medical exam identical to faa one, and do one flight test on a se piston.
the canadian atp requires two lengthy and challenging written exams, but no flight test if you have a current multi engine instrument rating.

Markus,
Are you sure about the multi-ifr flight test? Being a flight instructor, I am often asked this question and from what I remember from my initial research is that all converts have to do a multi-ifr flight test along with the 3 written exams (SAMRA, SARON, and the INRAT).

I converted Australian ATPL to Canadian and understand that requirements are the same for all foreign licence holders.

Canadian Class 1 Med.
SAMRA, SARON and INRAT exams.
M/E IFR Flight Test.

If you are going through the pacific region then I would recommend making the licence application through the Victoria office (I think the name of the person to speak to is Gail)rather than YVR since the turnaround time in Vancouver was almost a month since there was only one person who was able to assess the applications there when I applied and he claimed to be extremely busy.

Best of luck in the great white North.
