$30 to FLA
Just a question to anyone in the know about the industry...
How can an operator possibly make money charging $30 one way to Florida? Is this desperate marketing? The competition charges more than double. Just wondering. |
not that Im in that part of the industry, but I have been lead to believe that the $30 to FLA/SFO/LAX/whatever was about last seats of a flight that is already booked and they just want to get rid of the last couple of empties because it is better to earn something for the seat than nothing, but I could be talking trash too - just what Ive been told by friends. :)

Actually, it's a cute marketing ploy designed to get potential customers on the phone. It only applies to a few seats on the aircraft, and it requires that you buy a return ticket where the return fare is in the range of $300 to $500.
