AC bases

New to this board and tried to do a search for this answer but couldn't find it. Sorry if it has been discussed before but I was just wondering which bases go junior at AC. More specifically, how tough would it be to get YWG. I just recently got furloughed by Mesaba and am looking at my options for coming back up to Canada. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

YYZ is the junior base. Have not heard of any new hires this/last year getting YWG. Are you Canadian?

Thanks for the info. Yes, I'm originally from Regina.

The way I understand it, YWG is a closed base in that once everyone there has retired it will cease to exist (as a base, not altogether :D). I'm not 100% sure though.

AC has no plans to shut the YWG base..

I don't believe the YWG pilot base has been or will be closed.

I thought home bases were tied to the fleet. If you're a new hire then you're on the ERJ which means YYZ only at the moment. In a while you might be able to bid for A320 F/O.

If it's any consolation I think there's a few YWG guys sharing a place in YYZ for duty cycles. You should ask around once on board.
