A320 Type Rating Requirement

I'm a Canadian, recent CPL MIFR with about 320 TT (100PIC) in a Cessna 172 and Piper PA44, and passed IATRA.
.

EASA requirement for A320 includes ATPL theory (written ATPL in Canada). Does any one know that I can use IATRA instead of written ATPL for the EASA type rating?
How about FAA approved Type Rating, does FAA require Frozen ATPL for A320 TR?

Since I only have 320 hr or so, I'm way far off to write ATPL written. Is there an alternate route for A320 TR ?
Thanks in advance..

If you want an EASA type rating, you'll need an EASA CPL/IR and EASA ATPL theory credit (which most people do after PPL)

In your case, you'll need to:

1, register at an ATO to take either a full time residential course (6 months) or a distance learning course (about 12 months)

2, Pass all 14 exams within an 18 month window.

3, convert your CPL and IR to easa (about 20 hours flight training plus tests approx $2500 each test)

4, Take an MCC course, usually 10 days about $8000

5, now you can start a type rating.

Why the **** would you put yourself through all of that when the world's biggest pilot market is on your doorstep? The FAA will give you a licence and you can get a type rating for $10000 in about 3 weeks!

Exactly why don't you just do your rating in Canada or the US?
