PPC/line indoc and logging time

hi,

I currently work for an operator, was hired a few months ago.

They told me I have to fly 200 hours on the right seat at insurance request (at a good salary).

Did my PPC on the left seat at the beginning and the line indoc at around 200 hours.

How should I log these hours? I guess dual because some people told me you fly as ``co-captain``.

PIC I don't think so. Only one person in the cockpit can log PIC time right?

Or co-pilot? Other people told me you're not captain until line indoc.

thank you

arvida,

If you are a CPL, you should know this already.

If it is a aircraft that requires two crew, then you log time as P2.

If it is a single crew aircraft and the PIC is an instructor then you could log Dual.

If the PIC is not an instructor, then you are just a passenger.

P2 is in the PIC or co-pilot section?

What is a co-captain?

@India four two

Does this mean guys flying metros as a co-pilot should be logging it as dual only if the captain is an instructor?
What about B1900s on freight runs?
King Airs?

Tired of hearing this "If its single crew aircraft then you can't log it as co-pilot" crap.

If you are acting as a co-pilot and you are PPC'd on type, then you log it as Co-jo.
TC is certainly viewing you as a second crew member when it comes to flight and duty times for the captain so why shouldn't you be able to log it as co-jo?
