SIGMET help!!!

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum so I am not sure if this is the right place to
post weather questions. Please let me know if there is a better place on the web
for this.

I am from Canada, and I've put what I ;m having trouble understanding in parenthesis.

(WSCN32) CWEG 262337
SIGMET M6 VALID 262335/270225 CWEG-
CZEG EDMONTON FIR CNCL SIGMET M5 262225/270225
RMK GFACN32/CZWG WINNIPEG FIR SIGMET B5=
(END/WSCN22/CWAO)

(WSCN32) - This is the map region number for the prairies, so far so good.
(END/WSCN22/CWAO) But here WSCN 22 is different and I don't know where the ''22'' comes from. Also I don't know what CWAO means and I've looked everywhere without success.

Thanks!

A link to a tutorial on SIGMET: Recurrent Training Program / Formation périodique opérationelle

I'm guessing CWAO identifies the office from which the bulletin was issued, i.e. Canada - Weather - Aviation - Office.

Don't worry, as anything mentioned after (END... in the bulletin won't be on the written exam.

See the Aeronautical Information Manual, section 3.18 for a detailed description of SIGMET messages.

Two years ago Nav Canada announced that in order to better comply with ICAO norms Canadian SIGMETs would be issued with transmission headers that identified the FIR region (digits 0# or 2#) instead of the GFA region (numbers like 3#), and would identify the originating authority as CWAO instead of specifying the issuing Meteorological Aviation Center. What you have is a hybrid, issued with an old style header (WSCN32 CYEG) but containing the new style header information (WSCN22 CWAO) in the end tag.
