Bob Gauchie
Just wanted to let anyone who knew him, that Bob Gauchie passed away in a Victoria Hospital. He was not in good health, slipped into a coma and was gone in a week. He was quite an aviator in his time, being one of the original people involved in Buffalo Airways with Joe in it's inception. I guess the thing that most people would remember him for was surviving 58 days during the winter on a remote lake in the NorthWest Territories. He lost a few toes and hated Arctic Char to his dying day!! He was my uncle and miss him very much.

I knew Bob....Met him in Ft. Smith when I was working there with Buffalo in the '80's. He was a great guy with a good sense of humour.
I know Readers Digest did a story on him that was 'I believe' called 'The man who would't die'. This about his time missing from his flight. RIP Bob!! John |

Didn't know the gentleman, but am curious to know if you are the Lynn Kendel who lived in Pinawa, Manitoba in the 70s & 80s....

I don't think that was me as I only did one stint in Manitoba and that was The Pas with the RCMP Air Division in 75/76 and then on to Inuvik. It was only a little bit longer than a year but throughly enjoyed my time in The Pas and Clearwater Lake.
