Maintaining Canadian PPL

Okay. I'm thinking about starting my PPL training, as it's something I've always wanted to do, so I'm looking at the costs. Cost to get licence etc, okay easy enough to find. What I want to know however is what are the criteria you must meet to maintain your licence status. I can't seem to find this information. Is it a case of X hours, and Y landings a year, sit another test every Z years etc? Can anyone point me towards this information as I'm having the damedest time finding it.

Many thanks

According to the CARs, if I am not mistaken, your licence is valid as long as your medical is, BUT:

you need to do recurrent training every 2 years which might consist of a flight review, a written exam, or a safety seminar. Also, if you want to carry passenger, you must do 5 takeoffs and landings if you haven't done any in the last 6 month.

Enjoy your PPL training :ok:

Okay, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure the schools can confirm the info, it's just hard to find on the Transport Canada site.
