B737ng

Where would be the best place to get a 737NG type rating in Canada? I'm a US pilot who would go through the license conversion process, would anyone know how long that takes? Thanks......

I don't think you can do on ein Canada without working for a company that runs them. Not a lot of facilities her selling type ratings to those that are not hired already.:ugh:

West Jet in Calgary have NG sims. It's unlikely they'll sell you the training but there are those out there who could do your training. The problem is, though, WJ may have their sims running 24 hours a day and they may not be available for dry lease.
Without babbling on, if you have an FAA license, why not do your NG in the States and convert your FAA to Canadian. Then you can have them put your NG type rating on your Cdn license without the hassle of looking for the training up here.
I hope this helps?

Boeing 737 Type Rating -Airbus A320 Type Rating- B737 Type Rating

I called CAE and they said the same thing, just convert.....The thing is do the Canadians view the 737 like the US does? In the US our type says B737, and that covers all 73s. -200 through -900. How would the Canadians view this, and what would they put on a Canadian license? Thanks.....

Canadian B737 Type ratings

The FAA includes ALL models of the 737 in the one type rating. Transport Canada breaks them into 3 groups - Originals (100 & 200), Classic (300, 400, & 500), and the NG (600, 700 & 800 - no 900s in Canada yet). These are put on your ATPL as B73A, B73B, or B73C respectively. I have been given to understand than any of these would be considered equivalent to, and allow the issue of the FAA "B737" type rating, but I cannot find a suitable reference.

Cheers,
Jamesel
