Canadian military Lear's - armed and dangerous?

OK. I'm stumped. I saw what appeared to be two grey Lear's in Canadian military markings with hardpoints and some munitions. Are these some sort of trainer or did I mix something in my coffee besides creamer?

Were they T-33's, because The last time I checked, Canada doesn't have any Lears.

They were probably those belonging to Phoenix Air Group, a civilian defense contactor who provides 'targets' for training flights. The ones I've seen were camo grey, but I didn't notice any hardpoints.

The ground controller mentioned Phoeniz when I queried about them. Mystery solved. They did have hardpoints.

Didn't they lose one about a year or so ago? Rear bay overheat, or something.

There was this one - perhaps not the one Pigboat is referring to, but it certainly overheated! And I suspect the elk was a total loss too.

'Four Two, yeah that's the one. There was another Lear that crashed in California or someplace I believe, that had a rear bay overheat or a battery runaway. Got the two of them confused.
