Hi guys,

I'm in the process of applying for a Canadian PR. TT of about 5000 hrs with 1000 hrs PIC on the A320.

What prospects do I have in Canada with this kind of flying experience ?

The same prospects as anyone else; you'd get an interview with any of the regionals or major airlines. You'd be starting from the bottom of the list, so would be right seat at every airline. The only exception is Encore which may elect to interview you for a Direct Entry spot on the Q400. But you'd still be at the bottom of the list.

No they do not fly A320s minus AT , type doesn't matter that much

Minus AT would mean other than Air Transat?

True - at the beginner level , anything that is a turboprop will have to do

Maybe I misunderstand your statement, but Air Canada flies A320s at the mainline and the LCC.

Are many new hires required?

Are people being invited for interviews/assessments?

What is the recruitment process?

Are those who pass offered jobs or just places in a hold pool?

it varies,i waited for about a year or so before they called me up.
depending on your background.

they do hire, still hire a lot indefinitely

I have no idea about your chances for a major airline job, but in order to work in Canada, you must be a Permanent Resident. Your spouse can sponsor you, even if not living in Canada, but the process takes about 12 months:

So if one starts as an FO in AC, what is the salary on can expect to start with?

How good is the overtime at Rouge and mainline? people are telling me guys are making 20k + / mth in overtime? i smell bull**** but if somebody can enlighten me much appreciated.
