Thank you to Crew of TOM 2255

Sorry to start a new thread just for this but we sincerely wish to thank the Captain and crew of TOM 2255 JTR - MAN 11th Sept.

My 87 yr old father was taken seriously ill on this flight. The Captain elected to continue to MAN which, as a former airline pilot, I consider to have been the right decision for many reasons. He managed to knock an hour off the flight so obviously my thanks also to ATC and Thomson for the fuel!

Furthermore a stewardess was kind enough to phone the hospital (Wythenshawe) yesterday to enquire after my father. My brother and I considered this a very nice and caring touch.

He appears to have had a stroke and is still in a serious condition but occasionally lucid so things are looking OK at the moment.

I did contact Thomson on the 12th via their contact form but have had no reply. Please could any Thompson cabin crew get this message to those involved.

If nothing else this was an excellent PR exercise and shows the airline to be very caring and professional. Thank you again. :ok:

BTW he did have a nice holiday here with us – but I think that even if he recovers his flying days are over. :(

I have copied and pasted your message into the Thomson airline private forum in the hope that the pilots and cabin crew will stand a better chance of seeing it.

Hope your father continues to make a good recovery.

Best wishes,
B7E7

i will fwd this on to the cabin service base manager @ Manchester who will be able to notify all the crew, i'm glad they were able to get your father to hospital quickly to get the neccessary treatment and hope he makes a good recovery.

Oldbalboy, many thanks. It seems so difficult to contact the company. I could write but it would take weeks from here. I assume that the message will also get to the flt deck crew.

Dad still kind of OK.

l ask csbm to pass to pilot manager aswell.

For the record; my father is still in hospital but recovering slowly but surely.

Thank you again to all concerned :ok:

To finish the story -

Thank you again to all concerned. My father came out of hospital this afternoon and doesn't seem to have any long lasting effects from his stroke.

I have not heard if my message got through to those concerned but hopefully it did.
