CRM for Cabin Crew

Hi everybody

I wish to ask if anybody could kindly give me some help in finding information (articles, books, training material, web sites and so on) regarding CRM for Cabin Crew.

I need that as a friend of mine (not a ppruner),who is studying psychology at university, wishes to prepare a thesis on this matter.

Any infos is very much welcome.

Thanks for your attention and help.

Happy flying

Hi,

Check with the British safety board. They made a video about the B737-400 crash of British midland in the midlands. This is a typical video shown in CRM courses.
The other video we had is about a small canadian aircraft where the pilot looses control over the engines because of the ice on the wings, and the cabin crew had a total wrong attitude.

Another suggestion is to write the heads of the safety dept. of major and small companies. They will be helpful as this matter is in their intrest too.

In a university thesis your friend may get smartie points for citing the refereed academic journals. Try:

Chute, R. D., and Wiener, E. L.. (1995). Cockpit-cabin comunication: I. A tale of two cultures. International Journal of Aviation Psychology, 5, 257-276.

Chute, R. D., and Wiener, E. L.. (1996). Cockpit-cabin comunication: II. Shall we tell the pilots?. International Journal of Aviation Psychology, 6(3), 211-231.

You may also want to check with the Association of Flight Attendants, the largest flight attendant union. We have about 45,000 members in the United States representing United Airlines, US Airways, Alaska Airlines, America West Airlines as well as smaller regional carriers.

Sorry I don't have the address handy but the central office is located in Washington, DC USA.
