Hey people.

Im new to the industry and heard about the QantasLink base in Canberra.

Can anyone tell me when it will open, also whats it like working for QantasLink? will it involve nights away? Will a CBN based FA work on the 717 fleet.

Hi,

The base will be flying the new Q400 / Dash8-300 series aircraft. They're a 72 / 50 seater aircraft.

The crew will be employed by Sunstate.

crash axe, youre right, the CBR base is getting two Q400s, one in August and one in October. No 300s will be based there any time soon as far as I've heard.
They are employing sunstate flight attendants and pilots to operate them.
They are very nice aircraft to work on! They still have that "new plane smell..." :}
Not sure exactly what routes they are operating as yet, but lots of CBR-SYD for the CBR based aircrafts.
