Had Pannel Interview today. Think it went well, but you never can tell. Interviewers were great. Made you feel relaxed, yet focussed.. Now the waiting game starts... Fingers crossed!!!

Good luck again to everyone going through the MAM process. Will keep ya posted!

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi all,
I also had my panel interview today, the interviewers were lovely and did their best to keep me calm and relaxed. as you said steve one can never tell if they went good or bad.....I believe I did the best i could possibly do and am hoping that i will get a phone call in the next few days!!

Does anyone know what they think will be the next step? will we have to sit another interview? will we just get sent for our medicals? or get the dreaded email?

i hate the waiting game but if i get in it will all be worth the wait...;)

Sailorgal 23rd March 2006 11:04

hey guys, good luck!!

i'm still doing the waiting game after my panel interview in syd last friday...:(

i guess no news is probably good news for the moment (no dreaded rejection email so far) but am eagerly awaiting a phone call, have no idea what is supposed to happen after this stage so i'm a bit in the dark.

Sailorgal 28th March 2006 01:41

Woo hoo! i finally got a call to let me know what is actually happening!! they basically just wanted to let me know that i am still in the game, and they will soon be starting reference checks. they're also sending me my medical forms, and i have to book in to get them done once i receive my forms.

nice to at least know what's going on!! my panel interview was on fri 17th, so hang in there everyone who's waiting to hear after panel interviews - they might just be a bit slow getting all the details sorted!!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!@

Gloria 28th March 2006 09:23

Just curious, all who had panel interviews, were you called within 2 days as they promised or did it take longer! A friend hasn't heard & it has been 4 days since assessment day, I assume for her sake that means a NO! will they let people know by e-mail if you are unsuccessful??

jesski 28th March 2006 20:16

i heard of someone that got an email just yesterday saying thanks but no thanks. As for the time frame... i was told i would hear if i had the job last week.... still nothing.

P's cousin 3rd April 2006 22:27

I've been waiting and waiting since my panel interview in Dec 2005! You guys haven't seen nothing!:} I know I am shortlisted but the waiting game is really killing me too.

In the one-on-one interview, I was asked something like these(Sorry I can't remember exactly because it was looong time ago!! lol)

1. Explain when you did your job below standard and how you coped with it.
2. Explain when you did your job above standard and what you think made this happen.
3. Explain your customer service job experience. What kind of customer contact did you have etc.

Probably a couple more but I really can't remember. It was very relaxed and friendly interview with two Qantas/MAM flight attendants. It went on for 30mins I think.

Good luck guys, my fingers are crossed for you (and myself!):ok:

Hi everyone,
Its been a while since Ive been on here so please ignore my ignorance as to whats been happening! I also went to a MAM interview 2 weeks ago. Got a call back the morning after the group assessment and then had the panel. I havent heard anything yet, its been 1 week and a half. They didnt give me a time frame. They did call me wanting to know something to be able to do my security check so I guess Im stil in there with a chance!!!????? I hope so!
So Im still waiting, waiting, waiting! Those people who have heard how long was it before you were notified you had been successful? Was it through email or phone call?
Good luck everyone who had their panels, hope we all hear soon!

DesertCrew, I went through assesment, panel interview and medical check in Dec last year, sent off the papers in the early Jan, then got a letter saying that I'm shortlisted in the mid Feb.

I haven't heard anything from them since then. I think you're very highly considered at the moment otherwise they wouldn't ask you for security check, I think. :hmm:

michaelt_29 4th April 2006 11:03

I had my panel last week. At the end of the interview I asked them when we will be notified. I was told within 2 weeks. It hasn't even been a week yet so everyone should be patient and pleased they have't received any rejection notification. I've heard some people have already received rejection emails so no news is good news.

Also remember security checks are being undertaken and there has been a backlog due to the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne etc etc

Goodluck everyone
Hope to join you in the sky:ok:

OZcabincrew 5th April 2006 09:51

I waited 12 months on the shortlist before i heard anything. :hmm:

SkySista 5th April 2006 10:21

Quick question for someone i know who's interviewing.... she got measured, but does anyone know if they weigh you as well??? And, is it possible to ask to join the next soonest training school on getting in??

Oz, wow what a wait!!! I trust it was worth it though? :E :p

stevemelb 6th April 2006 03:50

Ya!!

Some news finally. Waiting's been killing me.. Had a call today. MAM asked for my email or Fax Number to send Medical forms too. Got the forms and all booked in for Tuesday, as thats the earliest time available...

Good luck once again everyone.

Cheers,

Steve.

Sailorgal 6th April 2006 11:58

OMG you guys are so lucky to get in for your medicals so quickly!!!??? i got called and asked to get my medicals done about a week ago, and the earliest appointment i could get with the sydney QF doctors was 2 weeks later!! The nurse told me this whole week was "shot" and i would just have to wait...??

gigs 6th April 2006 12:09

hi guys congrats to all who got in......just interested to know and im not trying to be negative but close your eyes and think of working on contract c what and where do you see your self in say 3-4 yrs???? not flying, full time or what??????no holidays no sick pay and say 18-30 full time offered every 18 mths or so with the casual work force growing at a rate of say 100-400 each year....this is a bona fide question im genuine with interest of your response...by the way i to am casual...... cheers gigs and btw what ever happened the galley hag she was a legend?????????????

OZcabincrew 6th April 2006 14:11

your choice

Hey!

Guys, gigs is right, however, it's your choice. This is the only way to fly for QF, if you're waiting for full time to be offered rather than casual, you have no chance. If you want to fly for QF, then take the MAM position. At least there will be a chance of going full time eventually. Remember gigs before your new EBA you had no guarantee and no chance whatsoever of going full time, atleast with your new EBA there is a light at the end of the tunnel for those wanting it, you're a step closer than you were before. By the way gigs, what contract are you going to choose? were you employed on the original contract A or employed on B? I am just curious as to what you'll do and what the talk is amongst casuals?

Good luck to all of you who are doing your medicals, we've all played the waiting game but it's worth the wait.

Oz :ok:

gigs 6th April 2006 16:26

contract a big fella then b for good hours...ive twice declined an invitation for per interviews as id live away from syd/my home.mind you i love per and mostly staying in the city at the ridgey digess.good to see you posting big guy but why do i get the feeling im writing to a youngster ah i was young once and didnt they say youth is waisted on the young....best of luck if your going for csm in per......cheers gigs

stevemelb 6th April 2006 19:56

OZcabincrew, agree with what you are saying. If you want to fly for QF, it really is your only option other than Career Progresion with Jet* or QF Link.

You also can only really go into this knowing that going F/T may take a hell of a long time (if ever), but atleast you can enjoy doing what is a great job in the meantime, that being Flying!

Have a great day...

Cheers,

Steve.

gigs 6th April 2006 22:13

nah dude ask oz who says we were/this would include the royle! we/ offered no chance ever.....ask him or her how long it took them...why do people have short memory on these matters??????? cheers gigs

OZcabincrew 7th April 2006 10:06
