VB CC EBA
Ok kiddies what gossip have you got for me on this wonderous piece of paper that is currently in production.
Let me get the ball rolling. 1. 3% payrise backpaid from when the old EBA expired. 2. Introduction of 5 sector days, same as Tech Crew. 3. Introduction of new rostering program which is currently used by Ground Crew and Tech Crew. 4. "Fatigue management". Which sounds like work longer hours, get more days off. Not sure how that helps with fatigue. If you have any other gossip or rumours please post here. :ok: |
Techies are still using Sabre - I understand the FD rostering department are trialling a new system, doing dummy roster runs etc. If its implemented then we shall get it too. There is the potential (though not confirmed) that our 4 day trips will align with theirs - so you have the same boys/girls up the front for the whole trip. Something that has the potential to have a MASSIVE effect on all of us is the implementation of CAP371 - its a UK ruling that they are looking at using here - has the potential to have major major impacts on all of us.
If this CAP371 is introduced here as part of the Tech Crew & CC EBA's, I am going to strongly recommend that crew READ all the information they can possibly get their hands on re the cap, so that they can make an intelligent and informed decision. Unlike the last EBA, there is a high enough percentage of us around now who have been with the company long enough to know what a massive impact the eba will have on the long term - I think the crew will take a much higher interest in it this time around! At least I hope so... |

The link to the document is http://www.caa.co.uk/application.asp...e=detail&id=22 and I recommend everyone has a browse through it! The document is quite long, about 456kb (erm not, of course, that size matters :E ) however for the mod's sanity I shant post the whole thing.

It is a piece of work designed to provide airlines with safe minimum guidelines not as a roster plan for crew , but that has been lost in the mists of time. Continuous working to cap371 will wear you out and you will really have to love your job to stick at for more than a few years. Most short haul crew in the UK are working to it or damn close. Once one airline adopts it as the way to roster crew then its pretty hard for competitors to reject. The pages relevent to crew are not that long 10 at the most, so its worth a read. You might be surprised at how many hours you can work and how little you actually do, particularly from stand bys. You can be on an early stand by, get called and work til the middle of the night if crewing work it right.
