BA crew need your help ! !

Hi all ba crew...

Im currently working for Emirates but my dream is to work for BA ...

I just have a few questions to ask.

As i want to live in France is it possible to commute on eurofleet lhr or lgw base. ?

How long is the wait to go to long haul ?

How much is the average salary per month after tax ?

Your help is much appreciated guys thanks

Hey buddy!
Technically you could certainly commute when on EF. But it more than likely would require a few nights per week in a local Bed and Breakfast near the airport and some clever bidding!!!
As for pay, well I wont go into it for obvious reasons here on pprune.
If its longhaul you are after then avoid applying for LGW EF as the wait could be anything up to and beyond 5 years as you must transfer to LHR EF first! Once your on LHR EF the wait is as little as 18months at the moment. Of course you could be lucky like me and get direct entry into LGW WW. But that oppurtunity is rare although a number of courses are starting next month.
Let me know how you get on.
All the best!

thank for the info.... i would pref to be based in lgw as it is easier to commute to Marseille.... as there is no flights from mrs - lhr...i want to get lgw ww so does that mean i have to go to Lhr Ef first

WW LGW and LGW EF are to be come one fleet.....ie mixed flying in a few years time. However, T&C, pay etc... won`t be on the current WW LGW agreement. It will be on the LGW EF agreement more than likely. So really you would be better of going to LHR EF for a better life style pay T&C. The frequency between MRS and LGW aren`t the best either for commuting and if the flights full you won`t be on it. NCE-LHR is better frequency however, flights tend to be busy but other BA staff with high seniority will be grapping the available seats. BA also have a habbit swapping routes between LHR and LGW.
Think you may have a little more to thing about than a MRS-LGW commuting route for you decision for joining BA.
Good Luck!

Why? If you do a search for other British Airways threads you will find plenty of indications of the pay scales available...good luck.
