Someone decide for me........(advice needed please)
Hey guys,
Basically here's the dilemma...... Have one summer season with MYT out of CWL under my belt, recieved a letter from their HR this week with regards to going back in april.....but have also recieved a holding pool letter from BY which I can only assume is for CWL as I only applied for CWL. What would you do? Back to MYT (have good seniority as so many people left-next in line for a 7-5) or BY(brand new start)? Anyone else in a similar situation? Thanks for taking the time to read this. If I was you i'd go with the Britannia job...
Do you really think you'll be next in line... I don't know what that base is like but if its anything like manchester you'll be messed around. Sorry to give negative comments about MYT.... I loved it when i worked for them, but then realised there's so many better airlines to work for. Good Luck Whatever you decide will be the right decision for you. |
I think if it was me the decision making process would go like this - my aim would be a permanent position, is that yours?
First of all are BY offering you a permanant position? If yes then I would accept their offer as it would save you the worry of finding work for the winter if a permanent position is what you want. (Or perhaps you have work organised for the winter) Or are you more likely to get a permanent position sooner with BY than MYT? If not, then if you were happy with MYT go back there, as you say you will be further up the seniority list. In the mean time keep looking around at other companies for full-time employment unless CWL is the only base you are considering then of course you are limited. The other thing I've just thought of is that as alot of people as you say have left MYT I think it will feel like a different company anyway with a whole load of new people. So a change in company probably wouldn't be as radical as you think although companies can treat you very differently. Do you know anyone at BY you can ask? I tend to go with my thoughts when I first wake up in the morning sometimes too. Not at all logical I know but they tend to be the right decisions when I go with my gut feeling. Heck does any of that help you? I'm more confused than you are now. All the best. D |
BY are fairly 'fussy' when it comes down to permanent!!
Things can only go up for MYT. FCA are still lookin for summer '05. Unfortunately only temp at the mo'. Good luck. |
Don't waste your time with BY mate, gave them three years of my time, worked my arse off and they've just tried to screw us rejoiner's over with a new cointract which would see our seniority back to zero! Don't even think about getting a permanent contract if you join at a small base...you'll be stuck there till your dying day seeing as they won't give out any permanent contracts at small bases, BUT also won't transfer you to another base until you have a permanent contract at your base of joining.
Stick with MYT mate. |
