first choice

Hi everybody,

I am going to be starting with First choice in the new year, does anyone know if they always lay you off at the end of the summer, or if you work hard you might get kept on?? Keep hearing different stories!!

Hi,

A lot depends on where you are based.
You stand a fair chance of being kept at Man or Lgw, but its tougher in the regionals. Mostly because the positions might simply not be there come the winter, no matter how good you are.

Where will you be starting? Bus or Boeing?
Cheers:ok:

Hi windsheer,

I will be based at Lgw, so i guess it will be more boeing, but maybe some airbus. Am really looking forward to it, sounds like they are a fun company to work for now!!!!

If you keep your head down and work hard you will be fine at LGW crm. Other bases sometimes get transfers to LGW or MAN for the winter if they are no contracts to be had at the regional bases. Seriously, I wouldn't worry if your LGW.

Yes I agree,

You should be fine at LGW, as there is such a turnover of staff.
Plus you may get a few longhaul stopovers!!

Good luck with it all!

Hi crm

I know that this year FCA did not offer any contracts at the end of the season anywhere around the country, although this is very unusual for them. They normally offer permanent contracts at LGW / MAN. at season end. .

Maybe next year will be better, but bear in mind there will be 2nd year returners who will probably be first in line for permanency.

Good luck!

Well thanks for the help guys, i will just keep my head down, work hard, and keep my fingers crossed.

Are they a good bunch of crew there? go out together partying and everything when on the trips?

What kind of places do you enjoy flying to? anywhere on your roster that you get really excited about?

Last question!! when you do the lap-land flights, do you get a stop over? as i am just a big kid at heart and i think that would be so cool!!!

Before anyone says, i know i won't get these trips straight away, but i am intending to be there a while, one last training course is enough for me!!!!!

Hi CRM

The lapland flights are mostly day trips.
Quite a tough day to, check-in at about 0430, and get back about midnight. Its a good 4hrs each way.

And, it gets dark about 1400 up there:ugh:
All the best,
