Excel Airways

My better half received an interview date in the post this morning for cabin crew selection for Excel.

Apparently it is spread over 3 to 4 hours in a general format. Can anyone give any indication of what she can expect this time to consist of?

Is it along the lines of team building/leadership exercises or does it involve tests or interviews?

It would be nice to know something of the format just to put her mind at some sort of rest, as she has never been through this sort of interview format.

Additionally, as seems the norm these days, there is seemingly no information about T & C's, rates of pay and so on. Do cabin crew get sector pay as per flight crew or are they paid just on salary? What would be the typical salary for starter cabin crew?

Thanks in advance for any information provided.

Thank you XL. I had browsed through the last half dozen pages and found nothing terribly specific, doesn't help with search disabled at moment though, may have missed the thread.

Thanks for your info .... any other snippets out there?

I'm not quite sure if I'm gona start a heated debate here, but here goes...

Why is everyone critisising the XLA Cabin Management? Not everybody gets on with or agrees with everyone else in this world and the XL CC Management have a great deal of experience behind them, so surely they know what they're doing.

None of the MAN crew I have spoke to seem to have a problem with the management.

XL1 sounds like cabincrew management in most companies. Promoted from the ranks but never really given proper management / people training. The odd one is v good but most have to use the treat them like children attitude. :suspect:

I didn't really intend on this becoming another slanging match about excel, but would like to thank you who replied constructively (by PM and on this forum).

IF Excel are really as bad as they are made out to be by some, then at least life can only get better! Certainly I'm impressed by what my partner came home with today (info wise and salary wise). So thanks for those who helped settle her mind a bit and now I'll let you get on with slagging each other off!!!
