Excel, Easy and GB
Hi there all,
My girlfriend has interviews with Excel, Easy and GB. I would much appreciate any info on the interviews for her. Thanks alot 2engop |
The Excel recruitment consists of a group interview, where you will be told about the company and asked to talk about yourself in front of everyone for around five minutes. Then you are given basic maths and general knowledge exams.
The second stage (if you pass the exams) is 1 to 1. They will ask you various questions about customer service situations, why you want to work specifically for excel etc. and also give you the opportunity to ask questions. Good luck to your girlfriend, excel is a friendly company to work for with some interesting work at the moment. |
Thanks XL one, thats a great help and i will pass it on to her.

Hi
If it was my choice I'd go for Easyjet. I work for them now and they are an excellent fun outgoing company. Pay is better than other companies and they are now one of the largest airlines in UK. I love working for them, the interview day is not as stressful as most and the training course is great. Just my imput, but in the end it is not my decision :) Take care Craic1510 :ok: oh by the way - the interview day is simple, and they ask you to relax and enjoy the day. It consists of group exercises in the morning - fun activities not boring ones, that encourage you to meet and interact with other people. Then there is a small test on information that easy give to you to learn. Then those that are successful go for an interview with two recruiters in the afternoon, who basically ask questions like 'when was a time you gave good customer service' etc. If you are successful - you'll know in a matter of days. best of luck :) |
I'd also reccomend easyJet. The pay is much better than Excel, and the company has a really relaxed and friendly feel. You work hard but it is rewarding.
Tips; Smile lots. Get involved with discussions and planning tasks. Give lots of eye contact and attention to whoever is speaking. Have a laugh and relax. Then your personality will come out. Lastly:- Think of times where you have used your customer service skills - eg dealt with a crisis/ gave someone support / gone the extra mile etc... Good luck. |
I would not disagree with anyone that easy does sound like a great airline to work for.
Personally i believe it comes down to what the individual wants from the job - easy pays better, works you harder + scheduled flights. Excel pay not so good but the most flights i have done in a month is 12, although they can be very long. In jan i have 3 flights and that fits in fine with my social life - also very varied flying. Don't have a clue about GB! Let us know what happens |
3 flights a month - wow that's a dream!!! I do at least 12-16 flights a month (days) which is far too much and the job then gets monotonous. However the money is very good-take home about £1,200 after tax. But I think you need a happy medium.
What is the money like at Easy and Excel and how many days would you do a month? |
dont work for excel money is bad with managers to match GBwork very hard no night stops and again money is bad

Having started my flying career at EZY and now hating it at XLA, I would recommend EZY every time.
Yes it's 6 on 3 off, 2 or 4 sector days. However, to all of you who say EZY work you much harder I disagree, it's much easier to do 4 short sectors with a simple bar service than a Sharm, Taba, Luxor etc etc with a full service, a very long day and very little flight pay in return. XLA do have some good little nightstops though, however you need to be lucky enough to get one, and you have to keep your fingers crossed that you are fleeted on the decent fleet. SCCM at EZY after a year though, XLA promotion erratic and as and when it suits the big cheeses. End of the day depends what you want from flying, but personally if i had a crystal ball this time last year I would still be at EZY and not skint, struggling now to pay the bills. Good luck with whatever comes your way!!:ok: |
here here. If i too had my crystal ball, I'd have stayed with ezy. Wicked airline, wicked crew, wicked fun and get away with blue murder!!!!! Great pay too. I took a £5K pay cut when I left ezy, which is unbearable. Thinking of going back
|
oh well, I think i'm out numbered, never no - i might end up as EZY ONE
