Iguanahead 25th November 2003 01:52

Hi flightboi,

On the Virginblue website they are advertising that they are accepting applications for Cabin Crew in their Brisbane and Melbourne bases.

You have to apply on line at www.cabincrew.staffcv.com

Good luck :ok: `

TrafficBoy 26th November 2003 08:59

apparently they are running assessment centres in dec/jan, and then they are coming to NZ to recruit for PacificBlue in Feb... thats wot ive heard anyways

flightboi 27th November 2003 07:21

Thanks for the info guys. Yes, i have applied and used the staffcv web site. I did this about a month ago and only got the confirmation of receipt that they had recieved my application. I've heard nothing else since, so i guess i have to sit tight and wait like alot of us.
Maybe we might hear somthing soon if they are organising possible assesment days in dec/jan.
Fingers crossed.

Flightboi,

We are ALWAYS recruiting. Just keep your details updated on the web and you should get your call one day.

( I started in July last year and there have been 20 training groups since then!!)

The Enema Bandit 30th November 2003 19:56

Yeah Virgin are always recruiting because they can't keep up with all those leaving.

Brisvegasboy 1st December 2003 09:07

Once again, get your facts correct..!!!

Emema Bandit,

Please don't make ill-informed coments such as the one above....Virgin Blue are recruiting like they are because of the growth in the airline.....

7 Cabin Crew resigned last month - yes only SEVEN.....so the 30-60 that they are putting through every month are primarily for growth.

For those out there thinking of applying/hoping to gain a position with DJ, DO IT.....fun company, great ppl to work with and good money. PLUS they ARE recruiting FULL TIME ....unlike some other carriers......

I have been with them for several months now and love it!

Bvb :)

trinalw 1st December 2003 09:54

You've really swung your allegiance over the last few months, hey bvb! x;)

The Enema Bandit 1st December 2003 23:26

Brisvegasboy, I got my info from within Virgin. Seems the conditions are pissing a few off, and not all cabin crew either. It will be interesting to see if you are still with them in a few more months time. What's it like for a career?

ozskipper 3rd December 2003 17:24

Out of curiousity, what's the average take home pay for Virgin Blue F/A's?

QF skywalker 3rd December 2003 17:36

ozskipper,

My DJ buddies tell me -

F/A - $1400-$1500 a f/n
Cabin Supervisor - $1700-$1800 f/n

Of course these figures are dependant on the number of overnights and also if you choose to work on days off for the callout fee. If you really wanted to you could really make some big $$$ with DJ.

ozskipper 4th December 2003 08:53

Thanks for the info QF Skywalker...

Not bad money really.... all things considered of course. Not sure that I could give up fabulous Melbourne or Sydney for Brisbane though....

Something to think about I guess!

Cheers
