heya Ryan,

Im training to be Cabin Crew for them now, and go to the interview dressed and tidy corporate gear - i would still wear a tie at that stage. Once accepted and on training you dont have to wear a tie, but it is still very smart clothes, ie shirt and pants...

They assess your ability to withhold the grooming regs on recruitment day - so you need to presented in a way that shows that!

Good luck with your application - it really IS a great place to work

Hey Trafficboy!

Are you training with Pacific Blue or Virgin Blue here in Australia?

TrafficBoy 24th November 2003 03:50

im with Pacific Blue, but they are exactly the same thing... ours just happens to be based in Christchurch!

its great

suits or no suits?

hey trafficboy i was told not to wear a suit to a virgin blue interview do you agree or disagree? what would u recommend ?

TrafficBoy 26th November 2003 09:03

well I wore a suit, and I got in - and so did the other guys that got in from my recruitment day too... it may have just been a coincidence, but the guys that DIDNT wear a suit didnt get through.... possibly more of a coincidence than anything else - but it gives you something to think about.

When it comes to training, you defnately dont have to wear a suit, nor a tie, but in my personal opinion, at the interview it is your first and only time to portray yourself as a professional person that can be taken seriously in an emergency!

But dont listen to me! hahahha Im not a recruiter! Just going from my successful experience!

Bang on

TrafficBoy is right. Those of us who wore suits got to panel interview - those who didn't, didn't.

Be immaculate, fresh haircut, and look upon your table as a team, not as competitors.

Trafficboy is right. Wear a suit to your Virgin Blue interview, however make sure you are comfortable in what you wear. If you are uncomfortable it will show!!!
