bmi, Virgin, or BA????

I have friends who work in the airline industry and really want to get into it. I've heard both good and bad thing about all airlines, including British Airways. I have a friend who works for them who has told me to stay clear as moral is very low. However, I have had an interview with them and just been offered the job (wow, I couldn't beleive it). In addition, Im waiting to hear the result from bmi and Virgin. I hear V is very low pay but the trips sound fab!!! Also, bmi, I know they work hard but the crew always seem to be so nice and hear the money is quite good too!!!

I've not heard from V or bmi yet, but just incase, can all you Virgins, bmis and bas let me know what its really like to work for you all. Money, trips, crew, job security, promotion and general morale.

All info will be greatly appreciated. Thanx guys

I work for bmi but if you have been offered a post with BA get both your hands and take it. Some people wait years to get a post flying. Consider yourself lucky..

Polly,

like in BA, it happens everywhere. People have a low morale even in the best places. Especially when they haven't worked anywhere else than the big. It's what I keep repeating to my collegues who complain: go fly somwhere else for a couple of years. We'll see if you feel the same about what you have now.

Hi Polly,

Just one question ,
When did you go for an interview ?

I have been waiting for 8 days for them to call me or to send me a letter... I don't have any news...
I fear i did not make it...

Thanks,
Bye
all the best for your new position .

Take it!

If you've been offered a job with BA - grab it!

I know of so many people who have applied for years without success to get into BA. They would be horrified if you didn't take it! :D

Morale is a bit like the ocean, sometimes its high and sometimes its low, but generally its pretty average everywhere. :p

Since you're already living in London, I'd say take BA for sure!!!

From what the interviewer told me there seems to be room for promotion (she told me you have the possibility of being a purser in 4 years) And I think, considering what airline pay is like in the UK, it's one of the best. Definately higher than Virgin Atlantic!

If I was in your position, I'd take BA without a second thought!!! :) And I think with the 400 new recruits, morale at BA should be on the up and up!

Thanks!!!

Thanks or all your help guys. I guess its ba then!!! Its so useful having a website like this as it informs the outside world of the inside.

I do see myself as very lucky having been given the job, and from the replies ba is definitely the direction I'll be heading towards.

Oh yeah, I had the interview about 1 week ago and they called the next day. However, another girl I know waited 5 weeks for an answer, and she got it, so don't worry!!

Once again, thanks guys for the help!!
